MUSIC FOR AMATEUR MUSICIANS

WORKSHOPS

Mark’s passion for music is reflected in the workshops he leads for amateur musicians. The purpose of these events is to encourage and assist aspiring musicians and composers, and Mark frequently runs these at the request of universities, colleges and schools around the United Kingdom. Even if students have had little interaction with live music, the workshops are a chance for aspiring musicians to familiarise themselves with how music is imagined, formed and played.  Each workshop is unique and is created specifically to meet the aims of individual projects.

The events feature a live collection of professional musicians who will collaborate with students to explore how musical material is created and performed. Students will then be supported as they make their own music for players to rehearse, record and perform. Not necessarily just an educational exercise, the workshops are a stimulating place for students and aspiring musicians to be inspired about the exciting world of live music.
