BBC Radio 3 have commissioned a flute concerto for the 2027-28 season. The new concerto will be written for BBC National Orchestra of Wales' principal flautist, Matthew Featherstone and explore relationships between performance and dance. The new score will be developed as a collaboration between composer, soloist and the Head of Movement at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Struan Leslie.
